Ruth (Morgan) Dawkins, age 77 of New Castle, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She was a pre-school recruiter and family advocate for Henry County School System. She was the daughter of the late Edgar Wesley and Emily Ruth (Miller) Morgan.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine A. Adams (Brad Walton) Lexington; four sons: James W. Dawkins and Morris D. Dawkins (Devona), both of Sulphur; Thomas L. Adams (Mitzi Blankenship), Frankfort; Wiliam A. Dawkins (Kim Martin-Dawkins), Sellersburg, Ind.; one sister, Edna Tipton and husband, Harold, Port Royal; seven grandchildren: Daniel, Emily and Matthew Dawkins, Grace Walton, Lena Adams , Alex and Jake Dawkins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tom Adams and William Dawkins; an infant son, Bradley Adams; sister, Doris Coleman, and brother, Robert Morgan Sr.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 19) at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. The Rev. Amber Inscore-Essick, pastor of Port Royal Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in Sulphur Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Martin, Jimmy Morgan, Bobby Blakemore, Harry Perry, Daniel Dawkins, Doug Tipton and Todd Willhite.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Henry County Family Resource Center payable to Henry County Board of Education for FRYSC Donation Fund.
