David Allen Boling, age 71 of Bagdad, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013. He was born on Nov. 20, 1941, to the late James and Jennie Wainscott Boling in Owen County. Mr. Boling worked in various positions for the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the Department of Information Systems for 34 years. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Owen County. Mr. Boling was an avid Ford enthusiast who loved Mustangs. He was a member of the Falls City Mustang Club of New Albany, Ind., where he served as the MCA Regional Director. He was also a member of the Mustang Club of America. He and his wife also participated in many local car shows where a large focus of their time and efforts was for charitable contributions. Mr. Boling and his wife traveled across the United States and Canada to many MCA shows, where they received countless awards for their mustangs.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patsy Fisher Boling, Bagdad; his daughter, Dawn Michele Courtney, Lexington; his son, Jason Allen Boling, Columbus, Ohio; his granddaughter, who was his pride and joy, Maygen Daphna Courtney, Lexington; his aunt, Bridie Litteral, Louisville and his best friends and brother in arms, Wayne and Susan Popp, Frankfort.
Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 1, at Clark Legacy Center on Versailles Rd. The Rev. Jeff Peed officiated. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers were Marty Clegg, Mike Rains, Mike Crosby, Morgan Chandler, Norb Thompson and Danny Purcell.
Pallbearers were Wayne Popp, Ben Popp, Berry Popp, Brad Popp, Bryan Courtney and Steve Merritt.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington and Hosparus of Louisville.
