Ralph Gilbert "Buck" Goodlet, age 81 of Smithfield, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville. Son of the late Charles Albert and Mallie (Williams) Goodlet, he was a mechanic and a member of Smithfield Christian Church. Buck was a MasterMason in the Pewee Valley Lodge No. 829 for more than 47 years. He was a member of the Tri-State Antique Engine Club, (ACME) Antique Coffee Grinder Club and enjoyed traveling across the United States and Canada pursuing his hobbies.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mildred (Graff Kaelin) Goodlet, Smithfield; one son, James Carlton Goodlet, Smithfield; step-sons: Raymond L. Kaelin, Louisville; John Robert Kaelin, San Antonio, Texas; stepdaughter, Karen (Joe) Michaels, Hiwassee, Ga.; one sister, Mary Frances Allen, La Grange; one brother, Ray Thomas Goodlet, La Grange; seven step-grandchildren, 14 step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Milinda Frances Goodlet Guffy; step-son, Joseph (Scott) Kaelin and a sister, Martha Jean Brooks.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 1) at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Thurman of Smithfield Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville. Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at the funeral home where a Masonic Service was conducted at 7 p.m.
