Mary Elizabeth Tipton Roberts, 95, of Pleasureville died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville.

She was a member of the Cropper Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was devoted to her faith and her family. She exemplified this through her cooking of favorite dishes and her caring touch for those who needed care, whether it be acquaintances or family. Her love of quilting has been shared with many as she has made and given away more than 70 quilts.
She is survived by her daughter, Nellie Lee Druin (Homer), Shelbyville; sons, J. W. Roberts, Jr. (Norma), Pleasureville; Hillis Carter Roberts (Sue), Shelbyville; Neal Wayne Roberts, Shelbyville; grandchildren, Timothy Clay Roberts, Shawn Carter Roberts, Angela Lynn Druin Roberts, Clinton Shane Roberts, Justin Wayne Roberts, Jeffrey Scott Druin; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Renzy Tipton, Jr. (Nellie), Shelbyville and Robert Tipton (Elizabeth), Waddy. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Roberts, Sr.; her daughter, Alice Mae Roberts; sons, Norman Bryon Roberts and William Dow Roberts; sister, Anna Frances LeCompte and brothers, Ernest, Orville, Billy, John and Sherman Tipton.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Shannon Funeral Home with the Rev. James Cavender officiating. Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasureville Cemetery.
