CHARLOTTE WHITEHEAD, 89, of Wayne, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fred Ferguson and Pastor Mark Booth officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born on January 16, 1925, in Wayne, a daughter of the late Clarence and Myrtle Sansom Smith. Charlotte was a member of Wayne Baptist Church, was a retired head cashier for Chandlers Plywood Products and also worked in the accounting department for Northern Wayne County PSD. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jack Whitehead, daughter Connie Smith and two brothers, Clarence and Jack Smith. Surviving is her son-in-law Thomas Smith of Wayne, W.Va.; two grandsons, Aaron Smith (Mary) of Culloden, W.Va., and Andrew Smith (Jennifer) of Huntington, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren Connor and Kennadi Smith; and brother Clyde Smith (Lona) of Seminole, Florida. Charlotte is also survived by many other special family members, including Nancy and Ray Bean of Huntington, W.Va., Lora and Jeremy Pullin and their children Cameron and Kaitlyn of Flatwoods, Kentucky. Special thanks to her caregivers Barbara Robertson, Joyce Napier, Gornita Lester, Andi Queen and staff of Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
