70, of Huntington, W.Va., died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington,
with Pastor Scott Lambert officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
James was born June 18, 1943, in Lincoln, County, W.Va., a son of the late Ardon and Edith Plumley Adkins. He was a retired Staff Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force

Post 1064, the DAV and American Legion Post 93 of Kenova. Two sisters, Rose Pack and Joyce Adkins and one brother, Bobby Adkins, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Mary L. Adkins; two daughters, Angela Reyes of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Teresa Reyes of Huntington; two sons, Phillip Ball of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Anthony Reyes of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Patty Pasquino of Moundsville, W.Va.; two brothers, Roger Adkins of Huntington and Cecil Adkins of West Hamlin, W.Va.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
