KEITH DEKKER RUSSELL, 60, of Lavalette, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Adena Hospital in Waverly, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fred Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, W.Va. He was born on October 19, 1953, in Huntington, W.Va., to Flora Ross Russell of Lavalette, W.Va., and the late Fred Russell. Dekker was a graduate of Wayne High School, where he was an avid baseball and basketball player. Later in life, he enjoyed participating in horseshoe tournaments. He retired from the Wayne County Board of Education. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brother Randall Brent Russell, paternal grandparents Harvey and Tennessee Russell and maternal grandparents Kirk and Vicie Ross. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sheila Carder Russell, son Keith Dewain (April) Russell of Wayne, W.Va.; step-daughter Rachel (Robert) Carder of Huntington, W.Va.; sisters Mitzi Russell of Lavalette, W.Va., and Heather (Jeff) Blatt of Kenova, W.Va.; and one granddaughter, Sarah. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
