MICHAEL RAY WATTS,
62, of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Huntington Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, W.Va.,
with Elder Joe Alley officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery
at Wayne. He was born July 18, 1951, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Floyd and Lena Hardwick Watts. Mike was a retired school bus inspector for the WV Department of Transportation and was a U.S. Army
veteran of the Vietnam War
. He was a member of the Kenova Church of Christ. Other memberships include Wayne Masonic Lodge #18 AF&AM, having served as Past Master, Wayne Chapter of Royal Arch #18, and the Huntington Scottish Rite. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents Floyd and Sarah Watts and John and Ruth Hardwick, and aunts Maggie Spurlock and Marie Watts. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Wanda Steele Watts; a daughter Audra Watts of Barboursville, W.Va.; a son Floyd Watts (Laura) of Vienna, W.Va.; two sisters, Sally Ross (Hoyt) of Summerville, N.C., and Betty Holmes of Macungie, Pa.; three grandchildren, William and Samuel Watts, and Jonathan Bowen; and a special life-long friend who was like a brother, Randy Thompson. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Joy Martin and the VA ICU staff for their care and compassion during a very difficult time. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Wayne Lodge #18, and military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 93 of Kenova.
