STANFORD CUE MAYNARD(1926 - 2014)

STANFORD CUE MAYNARD was born on August 10, 1926 and peacefully passed from this life at his home in West Logan on February 21, 2014. Preceding him in death were his wife of 60 years Betty Jean (Cox) Maynard, his parents Sylvester V. Maynard and Esta Queen Maynard, maternal grandparents Charles Queen and Armelda Maynard Queen, paternal grandparents Thomas H. Maynard and Sena Maynard Maynard, and one brother Marvin J. Maynard. A well respected lifelong member of the grocery business and owner/operator of Maynard's AG in Aracoma, Stanford was very active in church, community, business and charitable activities. As a member of the Maryetta United Baptist Church he served as a Trustee and a member of the Men's Fellowship. Stanford is survived by two daughters, Rebecca S. (Becky) Ferguson (and her husband Tom Ferguson) of Fort Worth, TX and Patricia D. (Patty) Maynard of West Logan, three grandsons, Colin Ferguson (and his wife Jessica) of Fort Worth, TX, Chase Ferguson of San Diego, Calif., and Zachary Ferguson of Fort Worth, TX. He is also survived by his sister Jean Maynard of West Logan and three brothers; Masil Maynard (and his wife Ermil) of Chapmanville, Bill Maynard (and his wife Jane) of Huntington, and Darrell Maynard (and his wife Frances) of Earlysville, Va. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Rankin Maynard of West Logan, Midge Cox of Aracoma, Ruth Cox of Point Pleasant, W.Va., and several nieces and nephews. Trustees of the Maryetta United Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers and Deacons of the church will serve as pallbearers. Services will be conducted by Pastor Lonnie Gore, Jr. and Assistant Pastor Barney Goins at the Maryetta United Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb 25. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at James Funeral Home, Monday, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of arrangements.
