Obituary Condolences

ELIZABETH HINES CZOMPO, 99, of Huntington, W.Va., died June 14, 2014. She was born September 25, 1914, in Red Sulphur Springs, Monroe County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Otey A. Hines and Josephine Vawter Hines and wife of the late Charles Czompo. She was a retired Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Marshall University. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1933 and had earned an A.B. degree in Mathematics from Marshall University in 1937 and had earned an M.A. degree in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky in 1939. She also did graduate work at Purdue University. Elizabeth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington where she had served as deacon, elder and Bible teacher. Elizabeth was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington.
