CURTIS R. MILLER, 81, of Chesapeake, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be noon Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck McCormick and Pastor Lou Ashworth officiating. Burial will follow in Langdon Cemetery. Curt was born September 24, 1932, in Mud, W.Va., a son of the late Howard and Hazel Gainer Miller. He was a graduate of Scott High School in Madison, W.Va., a graduate of Wittenberg College, a U.S. Air Force veteran, weekend DJ at WEAZ Easy Listening, founding member of Windsor Volunteer Fire Department, and an active member of Burlington Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was a member of Toast Masters, and was a voice in getting the Vocational School located in Getaway, Ohio, and retired from HK Porter/Conners Steel as Labor Relations Manager. Curt loved riding his motorcycle with his brother, sons, grandsons and many, many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister Nora Mae Miller and his brother Herbert "Buddy" Miller. He is survived by his wife Barbara Mount Miller; six children, Alan (Heather) Miller, Kathy Saunders, Lori (James) Waldo, Steven (Jill) Miller, Jill (Jeff) Jones, and Jack (Kellie) Miller; 17 grandchildren, Heath, Hollie, Josh, Mark, Jason, Chris, Brayton, Garrett, Jozy, Jacob, Jonni, Corey, Mason, Brea, Breanna, Lauren and Billy; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Clark. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, Ohio.
