MLADEN V. "MARIO" SAMOKOVSKI Obituary
MLADEN "MARIO" V. SAMOKOVSKI, 69, of South Point, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. The Sofia, Bulgaria native was born March 7, 1945, a son of the late Vasil and Nadia Todorova Samokovski. Mr. Samokovski was a graduate of Maxim Gorky High School in Sofia, Bulgaria and was a Truck Driver/Owner Operator of LTC for 38 years, retiring in 2014. He was an avid soccer fan, enjoyed riding motorcycles when he was younger and enjoyed traveling thru Europe and playing cards. He was of the Eastern Orthodox faith. He was a loving husband, caring father and grandfather and a great friend to many. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Lubomir Samokovski. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maria Stoyanova-Samokovski of South Point; daughter Nadia M. Samokovski of South Point; son Simon M. Samokovski of South Point; two granddaughters, Justine G. Mueller of South Point and Alexandra Leunissen of Greenup, Ky.; brother Tony Jankov of Sofia, Bulgaria; cousin Bob Popov of Ashland, Ky. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, Ohio with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
