DANIEL MARK GILLIAM

DANIEL MARK GILLIAM, 59, of Wayne, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. He was born October 18, 1959, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of Hughie Ronald "Dick" and Patty Sue Crockett Gilliam. Mark was a 1977 honor graduate of Wayne High School. He was a member of the New Vision Baptist Church and has been a devoted Christian since the age of twelve. With over 40 years of dedicated service, he was the general manager and vice president of Steel of West Virginia Inc., Marshall Steel Inc. of Memphis, Tenn., Steel Ventures Inc. of Wurtland, Ky., and SWVA Kentucky LLC of Coalton, Ky. Mark was also involved with other ventures including Truck & Tractor Manufacturers Assn., Industrial Truck Assn., Association for Iron and Steel Technologies, and Ship Builders Council of America. He was also a member of Marshall University Alumni Association, a board member of Lewis College of Business, member of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, member of the West Virginia Economic Round Table and proudly promoted and supported the United Way of the River Cities. A special nephew, Calvin Gilliam, and his grandparents, Orpha C. and Rudolph Gilliam, preceded him in death. Additional survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Cathy C. Cutler Gilliam; a daughter, Rebekah Scott (Chris) of Louisa, Ky.; two sons, Jared Gilliam (Jenny) and Jacob Gilliam (Candice), all of Wayne, W.Va.; two sisters, Sherri Mullins (Donald Ray) of Prestonsburg, Ky., and Karen Maynard (Anthony) of Wayne, W.Va.; a brother, Rodney Gilliam of Wayne, W.Va.; and seven grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, Luke, Jace, Jett, Jackson and Tyson. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, W.Va., with Pastors Danny Damron and Joe Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens at Wayne. Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at Morris Funeral Home.
