Obituary Condolences

ROGER WENDELL HAYNIE, 92, of Kenova, W.Va., a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 21, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Becky Lawson. Burial will follow at Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, W.Va. Roger was a retired machinist with Houdaille Industries and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII. He was a graduate of Buffalo High School, a trustee for the Memorial Church of God, Kenova, W.Va., and co-owner of Haynie's Heating and Cooling. He was born on July 9, 1921, in Wayne County, W.Va., the son of the late Zeri and Alberta Thompson Haynie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Skeens; and three sisters, Leota Frye, Pauline Webb and Bonnie Lucas. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Webb Haynie; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Velvet Kay Haynie of Kenova; four grandchildren, Amy Haynie, April Smithers, Greg and Jason Skeens; and four great-grandchildren, Rocky and Autumn Smithers, Emily and Jack Skeens.
