PEARL E. BOOTH

MR. PEARL E. BOOTH, 94, of Huntington, W.Va., went to be with his Lord Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Woodlands Retirement Community in Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Wayne, W.Va. He was born April 12, 1920 in Wayne, W.Va., a son of the late Elba and Emily Smith Booth. Pearl was a retired insurance agent and a member of Grace Gospel Church. He served as Wayne County Commissioner for 30 years, along with one term as Wayne County Assessor and was past President of the Tri-State Airport Authority. His loving wife, Emma P. Booth preceded him in death, along with an infant daughter; three sisters, Mae Booth, Beulah Booth, Talitha McSweeney; three brothers, Morris Gaston Booth, Curtis Booth, Elston Booth; two cousins that were raised as his brother and sister, Dennis Preston and Fontella Lett; and a great-grandson, Jonathan Elias McClure. Survivors include a son Mark Booth and wife, Teri; a sister Josa Belle Bennett; three grandchildren, Carrie Harper and husband Tim, Sara McClure and husband Brian, Leigh Anne Reynolds and husband Chris; two great-grandchildren, Grace Harper and Amira Harper. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne. The family would especially like to thank the Direct Care nurses and aides of the Woodlands Health Care. These fine professionals were so caring and gentle with our father and grandfather. We appreciate you so much more than we can express.
