Betty Eileen Reed

DECATUR - Betty Eileen Reed, 83, of Decatur, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Lincoln Manor. Graveside services to celebrate Betty's life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Graceland Cemetery with the "Flight Home" Ceremony to conclude the service. Visitation will be from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Betty was born April 5, 1928 in Decatur, the daughter of Melvin and Alma (Siehr) Smith. She retired from Decatur Garment Factory. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She married Irvin A. Reed Jr., January 20, 1945 in Decatur. He preceded her in death June 16, 1993. She leaves behind her sisters, Evelyn Mauck of Arthur and Dorothy Sloan of Shelbyville and several nieces and nephews. She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, and sister, Pauline Tapscott.
