www.summers-kistler.com. Pearl, as she was known to her many friends and numerous Christian children, was born July 21, 1907 in Shelbyville, Mo. to her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Henry and Myrtle Hilbert. On May 15, 1928 she joined with her loving husband, William Jesse Davis in Holy Wedded Matrimony, which produced three loving sons. Billie Lee Davis (deceased), Michael Eugene Davis of Olney and Richard Jesse Davis of Bristol, Va. 1928 was the year the stars fell on the life of Pearl as she took her first steps in a life long passion for teaching. Eventually this passion evolved into more than 50 years of service to her Lord as a Sunday School teacher. My, what a life she lived for those 50 plus years. As she watched, her sons and Christian children grew into champions over every one of life's joys and sorrows as they applied the wonderful Christian values she had instilled in them. How bright were those stars that fell on Pearl in 1928? Today, her sons, their wives, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with many of her Christian children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren can all testify, Thank you Mom; thanks for your love; thanks for everything. We love and will miss you Mom, but we know that we will see you again soon. How do we know this? Because you never taught us one thing, not one thing, that was not true. Indeed what a life she lived! She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Garden Club. Surviving are her sons, Michael Davis and wife Rozella of Calhoun; Richard Davis of Bristol, Va.; daughter-in-law, Betty R. Davis of New Market, Ind.; grandchildren, Rose Michele Humes of Olney; Eric N. Davis and wife Jean of Columbus, Ind.; Billie Davis Jr. and wife Helen of Troy, Ohio; Carol Ann Kramer and husband Ed of Crawfordsville, Ind; Mary Beth Lester and husband Derwin of Plainfield, Ind.; Barbie Davis of Carmel, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Ashley Renee Davis of Vincennes, Ind.; Shalon Douglas Ruff of Sullivan; Rachel Davis and Brittany Davis of Columbus, Ind.; Henry Gomez and wife Ajat of Tokyo, Japan; Hector Gomez of Orlando, Fla.; Lance Waldrop of Crawfordsville, Ind.; Rebecca Lester of Plainfield, Ind.; Gerald Lester of San Antonio, Texas; Jacob Lester of Plainfield, Ind.; Seth Davis of Carmel, Ind.; Alex Gomez of Tokyo, Japan; great-great-grandchildren, Abigail Elizabeth Noel Joiner of Vincennes, Ind.
