Daniel Atteberry Obituary

DECATUR - Daniel L. Atteberry, 57, of Decatur passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011 in the VA Illiana Health Care System after a long battle with cancer. Daniel was born on December 19, 1953 in Decatur the son of T.J. Prentice and Edna L. (Sullivan) Atteberry. He was a Veteran of the US Army. He worked as a mechanic in the Decatur area his entire life. He is survived by his brothers, David Atteberry (Karen) of Mt. Zion; Charles Atteberry (Janet) of Springfield; Jim Atteberry (Judy) of Venice, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Tom, Mike, and Joe, two sisters, Nelda and Sally. Graveside service will be 12 noon Friday May 6, 2011 in Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 am Friday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. The family request casual attire and instead of flowers that memorials be made to donor's choice. The family of Daniel L. Dan was a good friend for the time I've got to know him. He would give you a good laugh if you were troubled or just under the weather! I know that he loved his kids and grandkids even though he did not see them or as much, however he spoke highly of them and was proud to show off the pictures that he had! Dan will be dearly missed....but not forgotten!!!
