BETHANY - Larry "Shorty" Dawson, 70, of Bethany passed away 6:57 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, Bethany. Visitation will be held after 9:30 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany. Arrangements were made by McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Bethany. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, Bethany or in care of the family. Larry was born May 19, 1941 in Windsor, the son of Henry M and Vemil (Lowe) Dawson. He married Sheila Kay Kaufman March 1, 1991 in Decatur. He is a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, Bethany. He is survived by his wife Sheila; son, David Dawson of Effingham and brother, Gerald R. (Bea) Dawson of Decatur.
