WILLOW HILL - Ralph H. Edwards age 92, of Willow Hill, IL passed away at 6:00 PM – Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM – Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Rev. Richard Houser officiating. Visitation will be begin at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in the New St. Peter Cemetery near Newton, IL. Ralph was born on March 31, 1919 in Norris City, IL the son of John Nathan and Hallie (Weaver) Edwards. He married Mary H. (McVey) Gulso on August 20, 1964 and she survives. Ralph was a self employed oil producer for over 50 years. Ralph was a Christian who loved reading his Bible and praying for his friends and family. Ralph is survived by: Wife of 47 years – Mary Edwards of Willow Hill, IL; Daughters – Rachel Eugenia (husband Eric) Palmberg of Champaign, IL; Roberta Darlene (husband Dan) Severin of Kansas City, MO; Sons – Robert Dale (wife Edith) Edwards of Carrollton, VA; Cecil David (wife Elizabeth) Edwards of Yorba Linda, CA Daughter-in-Law – Georgia Edwards of Strasburg, IL; 17 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, five sisters and his sons Dennis Royal Edwards and Keith Dwight Edwards.
