William Colclasure Obituary

SULLIVAN - William R. 'Bill' Colclasure, 88, of Sullivan, passed away peacefully in his home at 8:12 p.m. Wednesday (June 1, 2011). Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ, Sullivan with Felix Hagerman and Vanessa Patient officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.to 2:00 p.m. in the Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice. Arrangements by the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. Condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneral home.net. Bill was born October 2, 1922 in Sullivan, the son of Floyd and Bertha Colclasure. He had been a bricklayer and a building contractor and a member of the Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ, Sullivan. He married Jean Keen on May 25, 1943 and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2010. Surviving are his daughters; Lyn (Ken) Wiegand of East Peoria, Ann (Mark) Dickens; son, Jeff (Theresa) Colclasure of Sullivan; brother, Les (Bobbie) Colclasure; sisters, Thelma King of Sullivan, Donna (Lozelle) Bunfill of Mt. Sterling, Ellen (Max) Rhoads of Findlay; grandchildren, Amy Davis, Jayson Wiegand, Rebecca Dickens and her husband Kris Shepard, Rachel (Guy) Cravatta, Justin Colclasure, Sarah Colclasure, Taylor Colclasure and five great grandchildren. Bill is also survived by a special niece, Rhonda Harshman. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five sisters and a brother. At the end of a long and well lived life, Bill was at peace with a calm spirit. He loved his work, family, travel and boating. In his later years he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, in fact, he took his last ride the day before he entered the hospital with his final illness. In his last years you could find him relaxing in his hammock with his dogs, a book, and his memories. Obituary written by family members.
