STEEL, Irene Albina. In her ninetieth year, Irene Steel passed away on January 15th, 2013 at her home in Hialeah, Florida, after a brief illness. She is predeceased by her husband Roy George Steel. Roy and Irene were long time residents of Hialeah. Irene is survived by her two sons; Alan Roy Steel of Hialeah, and Robert Frank Steel, (Karen) of Jacksonville. She is also survived by her four grand-children, Morgan Roy Steel (Amy) of Boca Raton, Devon Alan Steel of Miramar, Robert Morton Steel ( Courtney) of Port St. Lucie, and Carolyn Elizabeth Steel of Jacksonville, as well as three great-grandchildren; Dallas, Attybe and Trenton She is also survived by her stepson, Roy George Steel Jr, (Janet) of Chevy Chase, Maryland, their children, Brian Steel (April) of Baltimore, and Valerie Orick (Gabriel) of Vacaville, California, and two great grandchildrten; Ainsley and Mila. Also surviving Irene is her stepdaughter, Linda Tyhurst of Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, her children and grandchildren in Canada. Irene was predeceased by her brother, Alexander Lorewicz and her sister Marie Lorewicz, both of Detroit, Michigan. Irene was born Irene Albina Lorewicz on July 17, 1923 in the village of Byton in northern Poland. With her family, she emigrated to Canada at the age of three, and grew up in Windsor, Ontario. There she met and married Roy Steel in 1952 and moved to Miami. Together, they built the More Cycle bicycle business, along with their sons, Alan and Robert. For many years they were both active and well respected in the bicycle industry supporting many charitable bicycle events over these years. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vista Memorial Gardens of Miami Lakes (14200 NW 57th Avenue). Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with the funeral service to be held at 9:00 p.m. on Friday evening, January 18th. Visitation also on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by interment at the Miami Memorial Park, 6200 SW 77 Avenue, Miami. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National MS Society, South Florida Chapter, Suite 127, 3201 West Commercial Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.
