Archer, Larry - Miami  
ARCHER, LARRY 9/18/1937-1/26/2015 Larry passed away peacefully after a brief illness. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio and moved to Miami in 1941 where he graduated from St. Teresa High. Larry is reunited with his loving wife Phyllis of 46 years, his parents (Dorothy and Paul) and his brother (Bill). His grandchildren, Kaley, Kristin, Anthony and Benjamin were the pride and joy of his life. He is survived by his daughters, Margie (Jon Seaman) and Judi (Ben Atkins), niece Kimberly and nephew William (Jason). After a long career as a Sales Rep, he retired from Warner Lambert. Larry certainly appreciated his retirement but also worked as a seasonal tax preparer keeping his mind sharp and focused. Larry was a devout catholic and attended mass regularly at St. Timothy's Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with friends at the Miami Elks Lodge #948. Larry loved spending time connecting with family and friends new and old, Nascar, horseracing, football, and a good Irish Whiskey. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project. A visitation will be held on Friday, 1-30-15 at 4 - 8 PM at Van Orsdel Kendall Chapel, 11220 N. Kendall Drive, Miami. A Mass will be on Saturday, 1-31-15 at 10 AM at St Timothy's Catholic Church, 5400 SW 102nd Ave, Miami with burial to follow at Miami Memorial Park.

AUSTIN, GWEN DUNN, 80, passed away 1/10/15. She is survived by her husband, Richard B. Austin; sister, Jeanine; stepson, Earl Austin; stepdaughters, Teresa Feightner and Lisa Donahoo; and numerous step-grandchildren. Gwen was predeceased by her parents; brother, Bill; and stepson, Ricky Austin. Services were private.

BANASZAK, HOWARD  
BANASZAK, HOWARD, passed peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2015. He was 87 years old. Born July 15, 1927 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was the oldest of three children born to Stanley Joseph and Anna Banaszak. The family moved to Hollywood, FL in 1936. Howard graduated from South Broward High School and served in the Coast Guard during World War II. In 1964 Howard founded Banaszak Concrete Corporation, which recently celebrated its 50th year of operation. Upon retirement, Howard and his wife Sarah Lee enjoyed international travel and spending time at their home in North Carolina. Howard is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Sarah Lee Banaszak; son, Howard Banaszak and wife, Diane of Fort Lauderdale, their children, Olivia Haggerty and Annagrace Pfister, and great-grandchild, Amelia Haggerty; brother, Merle Banaszak of Melbourne, FL; and sister Kathryn Hutchins of Jenison, MI. Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, 1530 Hollywood Blvd, on Saturday, January 24 at 5:00 pm.

Berman, Irene - Miami  
BERMAN, IRENE, a pioneer in the movie and television industry, sadly passed away on Saturday, January 17th at 11:00am. Irene was 85 years young. Irene leaves Her Sister, Doris Bernhard, Daughters, Renee Sweeney and Cheryl Henry and Husband Lawrence Berman. Irene was the first female T.V. producer in the state of Florida and produced the Skipper Chuck Show, Major telethons, started V and F Productions, past president of NATAS and FMPTA, wrote a column for the Miami Herald, was on the Cultural Affairs Committee in Miami Lakes and was a singer/dancer... played the accordion with Her Sister Doris. The funeral will be held this Saturday, the 24th at Caballero Rivero Southern Funeral Home...15011 w. Dixie Highway. viewing is from 1p to 2pm burial at 2pm across the street at Southern Memorial. Irene touched everyone and will be missed forever! Rest in Peace, Irene.

Leon Block, 64, rode his last wave and passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and siblings. He is survived by his wife Juanita, two very special children, Salma and Youssra, and immediate family; Evalyn, Gary, Barbara, Steven, Beth, Sandra, Elaine, Sherri, nieces and nephews Jessica, Alfred, Amanda and Aaron, and, son and daughters-in-law Eric, Kimberly and Marrissa, six grandchildren and numerous life-long friends. A wonderful husband and a great brother, and the kind of friend you only hope to have in your life. He will be missed but will always be in our hearts.

Bloom, Charles Benjamin - Miami  
BLOOM, CHARLES BENJAMIN, 44, of Miami Shores, Florida, died in an accident on January 15, 2015. Charlie is survived by his mother, Theresa McDuffie Bloom; his sisters, Amy Bloom, Barbara Bloom Meyer, Laura Bloom Gilbert; brother, Bill Bloom; and aunt, Catherine Wilkes. Charlie was predeceased by his father, Benjamin Joseph Bloom. Charlie was a 12-year graduate of Miami Country Day School, excelling in soccer, football and tennis. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Florida, and an Executive Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami, graduating second in his class. Charlie held licenses in numerous industries, including mortgage brokerage (licensed in 30 states), insurance and real estate industries. Charlie's loving, kind, gentle, happy, caring and compassionate soul touched the hearts of all who knew him. He was devoted to his family, and in particular his mother, whose side he never left. Charlie had an infectious smile and clever sense of humor. He loved many sports, tennis and golf were his favorite. He was a bright, selfless, gentleman, who was beloved by his family and many friends. Charlie's girlfriend, Sandra Cecilia Alvarez, who also died tragically in the accident, brought joy, light and smiles into Charlie's life. Charlie's departure left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Miami Shores Presbyterian Church, 602 N.E. 96 Street, Miami Shores, FL 33138. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie's name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, 1-800-342-2383.

BROOKS, MR. RICHARD "Rick" LEE, age 59, of Woodlake Lane, Young Harris, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Murphy Medical Center in Murphy, NC. He was born July 25, 1955 in Key West, FL. Rick moved here 8 years ago from Dade County, FL. He had been a Metro Dade Firefighter IAFF Local 1403 for 29 years. He was preceded in death by his father Wesley Frank Brooks and a brother Wesley Brooks. Survivors include his wife, Debra L. Brooks of Young Harris, GA, his mother, Jacquelyn Brooks of Hialeah, FL, children, Ryan Brooks of Young Harris, GA and Jessica and Timothy Buckhalt of Miami, FL, brother, Duane and Judy Brooks of the Villages, grandchild, Ayla Buckhalt. Services will be held in Miami at a later date. In lieu of flowers make memorials to IAFF Local 1403. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements. Carbonell, Robert P. (Bob) - Miami  
CARBONELL, ROBERT (BOB) P., was called home to the Lord on January 19, 2015. Born in Key West March 30, 1928 , Bob grew up in Miami and was active in the Audubon Society before starting his own landscape design firm. Predeceased by his loving wife Graciella, Bob is survived by his children, Rodney (Maria) and Brenda Carbonell and by his sisters, Emily Damiano and Sylvia Carbonell Levy and brother,Tommy Carbonell and dear friend George Alvarez. Bob is survived by nieces, Yvonne Eldredge Damiano, Cyndee Levy Angulo , Linda Levy Goldberg and nephew Bradley Siddall . Prayer service 1/22/15 at 9:30 am at Caballero-Rivero Funeral Home, 7355 SW 117th Ave in Miami with burial to follow.
