Cortez, Gabriel - Miami  
CORTEZ, GABRIEL, 77, of Miami passed away in his home Wednesday. He was born in Chicago to the late John and Diane Cortez. He served in the US Air Force before moving to Miami where he resided for over 50 years. He started his own business, Plaza Tire & Auto Center, which has become a fixture in Midtown Miami for over 35 years. He loved sailing and spent his time leading youth groups in maritime activities. He is survived by his wife Helen; his children John, Michael, Andrew, and Catherine; grandchildren Cynthia, Bryan, Elisabeth, Alison, Quinn, and Christopher; and one great-grandson Cooper. There will be a visitation at the Gregg L. Mason Funeral Home in Miami Shores on Sunday 11/23 at 3-5pm. A funeral mass Monday, 11/24 at 11am at St. Rose of Lima Church.

D'Aiuto, lthea Francis Keene - Stuart  
D'AIUTO lthea Francis Keene D'Aiuto, 78, of Stuart, Florida. formerly of Lantana and Marathon, Florida, and Westport, CT, went to be with the lord, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She passed peacefully on Friday November 14th with her daughter Victoria and daughter in-law Donna by her side. Althea was born December 10, 1935 in Norwalk, CT, to the late Harold and Ethel Keene. In 1955 she married the love of her life Joseph D'Aiuto. After moving to Florida Althea became a true Miami Dolphin fan. A season ticket holder for over twenty years, very rarely would she miss a game. Even while fighting cancer she would have to be up to watch as she puts it "my dolphins". She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, brothers Charles, Harold and Jimmy. She is survived by her children, Victoria D'Aiuto of CT, Joseph D'Aiuto of Okeechobee, Florida and Mr. & Mrs Anthony F. D'Aiuto of Marathon, Florida. She is also survived by her sisters Ethel, Emma and brother Paul. Althea also leaves behind four granddaughters, Michelle & Danielle Martinez, Lynsay & Jennie D'Aiuto, two great granddaughters and two great grandsons, and her cat Cali, along with many lifelong friends. Mom, Alibaba, Grandma, Gama, or GG was loved by all and will surely be missed by all. She was a very loving and caring person. Althea will be cremated and be interned with her husband Joseph at Arlington National Cemetery Arlington Virginia.

Danis, Alan - Miami  
DANIS, ALAN, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, passed away Nov. 20. He was a truly good man-- a generous heart, loving soul, quick mind and delightful wit. Born in Brooklyn, he held BS and MA Engineering degrees from Brooklyn Polytech and Newark College of Engineering. He was a researcher for RCA Corp. and helped design heart pacemakers at Cordis Corp. Later, he was a paralegal at Holland & Knight. Alan loved jazz, sports, travel, corny jokes and time with friends and family, especially trips with each grandchild and a working summer at Yellowstone Nat. Pk. He volunteered at Joe Diamaggio Hospital, Mishcan Miami hospital visitation, and was president of Adath Yeshuran, NMB, helping merge it with Beth Torah Congregation. Active with the Men's Club, he attended daily minion and services, enjoyed adult education classes, was a Melton Jewish Education grad. He is missed by his loving wife of 54 years Lois, sons Stephen and Ken, daughter Jane, daughters-in-law Susu and Jodi and grandchildren Rachel, Zack, Elliot, Peter, Samantha, Jacob, Ethan, Max. Funeral: Sun. 11/23, 11:30 AM, Levitt Weinstein, NMB. Burial: Lakeside Cemetery. Donations may be made to Beth Torah Synagogue Adult Education Fund.

Edelson, Gary Ted  
EDELSON The Lord Jesus graduated Gary Ted Edelson to Heaven on Thursday, November 13, 2014 A.D. after his 80th birthday on November 8, 2014 A.D. He and his wife Numpy were married 53 years. Son Bryce and wife Paula of Bartow, Florida have 2 children: 17 year old daughter Katelyn and 14 year old son Lane. Daughter Denine and husband Michael Douglas of Plant City, Florida have one child: 14 year old daughter Kaylee. Gary's two sisters are Joan Manges of Marathon, Florida and Louise Dall of Rochester, New York. Gary was owner/manager of Hall's Resort on the island of Marathon in the Florida Keys from 1961-1996; after which he retired to Bartow, Florida.

Mallet, Marie Antoinette - Miami  
MALLET, MARIE ANTOINETTE, of North Miami Beach, born Jan. 12, 1942 in Richmond, Va., passed away Nov. 20, 2014 at Hospice at Aventura Hospital. Marie leaves one brother, Dr. Joseph Mallet of Washington, D.C., two sisters, Adelaide Michelle Schell of Louisville, KY and Frances Lorraine Mallet of North Miami Beach, a nephew, Todd Schell (wife, Sherrill Schell) and his daughter, Cora, a niece, Zoe Dean (husband, Dr. Ron Dean) and their son, Preston, an uncle, J. Harwood Cochrane (wife, Louise) of Richmond, Va. and numerous cousins. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Adelaide Mallet of Richmond, Va. and her longtime sweetheart, Harry Bua of Miami. Marie worked most of her career as a medical office manager, most recently at the Pain Management Center in Miami. She will be missed by many - dear friends and her former patients whom she served so graciously. She will welcome us all into heaven someday. There will be no memorial service, per Marie's request.

Wiseman, Harry  
Dr. Harry Wiseman, Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering at University of Miami, born 12/27/1924, passed peacefully Thursday 11/22/2014. Beloved father, adoring husband, avid flask collector and lover of opera, he remained witty and wise to the very end of his days. He is survived by his wife,Dr. Reva Wiseman, son Matthew Wise, daughter Betsy Wise and 5 grandchildren. At his request, his ashes will be scattered at sea. Shiva Sunday 11/23 at 2000 Towerside Terrace, apt 1607, 33138. Kaddish at 3pm.

YEAGER, JAMES R., 80, of Miami, FL, passed away on November 18, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born in Charleston, WV on March 5, 1934 and relocated to Miami in 1962. Jim has finally reunited with his loving wife, Sally, of 51 years. Jim is survived by daughters, Teri A. Leeds (Scott), Lori A. Miller, and Laura A. Mirabito (Andrew). Additionally, he was the PROUD and LOVING grandfather of Regina A. Mirabito, Brittany A. Miller, Lizzie A. Leeds and Jon A. Leeds. Jim touched the hearts of many lives who knew him. Drake, Wayne H. - Miami  
DRAKE, WAYNE H., a 64 year resident of Coral Gables passed away on November 16, 2014 at the age of 90. Wayne was born in Hendersonville, NC on July 7, 1924 to the late William T. Drake and Mary Etta Middleton Drake. After graduating from Pompano High School, he served in the Army Air Corp (813th AAF) and had a distinguished and honorable military career. Shortly after WWII Wayne was employed as a professional flight engineer with Eastern, National and Pan American Airlines. Wayne was an original member of the Everglades Conservation and Sportsman Club and was passionate about wildlife and his property and private air strip Calusa Ranch located within the Big Cypress National Preserve. His local activities included membership at the Coral Gables Country Club, Granada Presbyterian Church, Coral Gables Emergency Preparedness Committee and regular golfer at the Biltmore Golf Course. Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Haydee O. Drake and four children, Terry Drake Chandler (James), Pamela Drake Holmes, Wayne M. "Mitch" Drake (Jennie) and Cary W. Drake (Bonita). He is also survived by seven grandchildren Joe Boyd, Mason Drake, Michael Drake, Jessica Chynoweth, Joy Campbell, Austin Drake and W. Sterling Drake, plus nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either the Veterans Association or Granada Presbyterian Church. Memorial service will be held at 3pm on Sunday November 23, 2014 at Granada Presbyterian Church in Coral Gables. Burial service at 2pm Tuesday afternoon at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

Hoguet, Christine Paula  
HOGUET Christine Paula Hoguet, age 54, of Tavernier, FL, passed away peacefully at her home, on September 26, 2014. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Bay Harbor HOA Marina, the intersection of North and South Bay Harbor Drives in Key Largo, FL. Her ashes are going to be spread in the ocean. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Veterans Organizations or Local Animal Shelters, as she was a veteran herself and an animal lover. Christine was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 12, 1960 to Harold Alan Salser and Bobbie Jean Crowell. She served in U.S. Navy, graduated Summa Cum Laude and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau, an International Honor Society of Nursing, and served as a U.S. Navy Nurse (LTJG) from 1993-1996. She married Christopher Hoguet in Topsail Beach, NC, on June 21, 1997. Christine is predeceased by her parents, Harold and Bobbie Jean; her dogs: Sakae, Mister, Mac, and Houdini; and her cats: Noel, Tommy, Bert, and Zeus. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Hoguet, Lieutenant Colonel U.S. Army Special Forces (Ret), of Tavernier, FL; her brother Dr. Robin Salser of Hesperia, Ca; and her beloved dogs Sophia, Hope, and Stardancer.
