Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Dr. Rosen. I could not have asked for a better doctor. He went above and beyond the requirements for his job, and you could tell he was very passionate about what he did. He was an inspiration and will be greatly missed. To the Rosen family -
I am so very sorry for your loss. I just learned of David's passing through the Michigan Alumnus. I met David when we were both teenagers, working at Camp Walden, and then kept up with him when we were both students at Michigan. He was a couple of years ahead of me, so I saw less of him when he got busy with medical school. I moved away from Michigan many years ago and lost touch with him, but it made me very sad, nonetheless, to learn of his passing. I do hope you can take some comfort in seeing the good that he did in his altogether-too-short life. I was very touched to read the heartfelt sentiments of his former patients and their families.

I was very upset to hear about the passing of Dr. Rosen. I will always be thankful to him for treating my eating disorder. A couple years later he also gave me advice when I found out my friend had an eating disorder and just last year he helped me with my stage fright. He really helped me through a lot and I will always be grateful for that.

I knew David while in my early twenties. His wisdom and fine sense of humor lit up my life, as did his sensitive photography! He taught me so much and was such a supportive friend. The world is a dimmer place without the light of his smile and the glow of his heart. What a loss to us all....but what a gift to have known him. xoxoxo Robin

We were sad to hear of the passing of Dr Rosen, what a man, what taste in ties!! My daughter Rachael has a rare and chronic illness and this causes depression and anxiety, a few meetings with Dr Rosen and she seemed to relax knowing she could call him and he would help. We as a family used to have such a fun time when we met with him guessing the colour of his tie and shirt. On our last meet with him he said to our daughter that he had seen her name on his list that morning and picked out a special tie and shirt especially for her...she reciprecated at Christmas with a Union Jack tie for Christmas. We shall all miss him so much. Go Blue.

I had the privilege to work with David in the Child Adolescent Inpatient psychiatry unit. His first move when he arrived was to check his e mail and correspond with his adolescent patients. They LOVED him. He loved to teach and we all gained so much from his observations and compassionate style of medicine. Gone too soon.......

Our family is saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. David Rosen.
He helped our daughter for months with her eating disorder before she began collage. Upon her high school graduation David sent her a card with a donation to the Heifer Foundation in her name so other less fortunate people could feed their families and others.
Our daughter thought this was the most wonderful gift she received. She will always remember this and was truly humbled to know how much Dr. Rosen cared about his patients and others as well.
Our prayers are with his family and hope you find comfort knowing how many lives are far better because of David.

I was fortunate to be his classmate in Medical School, where he brought great humor and a love of the absurd to the pressures and tedium of the intense studies. His satirical PhiChi scribe notes are memorable to this day. On one particular day, a boring lecturer droned for an hour about ocular anatomy and repeated the term "Canal of Schlemm" at least thirty seven times. He was driving us mad and had another hour of lecture to go. Well, at the break a wildfire conspiracy with Dave in the thick of it ensued whereupon the class decided to give this lecturer a standing ovation whenever he said "Canal of Schlemm" again. It resulted in a hilarious moment that I will always remember. David was and is an inspiring individual and my heartfelt condolences to his family on this loss of a fine and brilliant fellow who passed too soon. Sincerely, Dan Ladizinsky UM Class of '84

I only saw Dr. Rosen for one appointment, but he truly made a difference in my life, as I know he did in many others. His advice was some of the most important; he helped me out a lot. Even with that single visit, I could tell he deeply cared for his patients and his work. I want you to know that you have my deepest sympathy and I am sorry for your loss. Dr. Rosen made a huge impact in the lives of many of his patients, especially other adolescents, and I thank him for that.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of David. He was always a sweet, kind soul... a caring camp doctor, a dedicated grandson, a beautiful photographer and always a mentsch. We met Daivid through camp Walden, had him photograph our daughter's Bat Mitzvah party, and loved running into him at Detroit area delis, usually with his grandmother. Our deepest condolences.
