THELMA BLOCK Obituary

BLOCK, THELMA STREIFF, known as Tobi throughout her life passed away at home on April 20, 2011. Born May 26, 1931 in New York City to Ruth and Ira Streiff, loving parents to whom she remained devoted during their lifetime. She graduated from Jamaica High School and attended the University of Miami. Preferring the world of business she returned to Manhattan and enjoyed the workaday world till meeting and marrying her beloved husband of 59 years, Leonard Block. Their young family relocated to Miami Beach in1959 where she assisted her husband in building a successful wholesale jewelry business. A stroke at age 50 led to decreased participation in the family business, but not her involvement with her family and friends. She considered her greatest accomplishment, in addition to her marriage, to be her two sons, Andrew and Howard, and the families they successfully established. Together, she and Lenny lived life to the fullest, traveling the world and partaking deeply in the lives of their sons and daughters-in-law and 5 remarkable grandchildren. In addition to her husband and son Andrew she is survived by her brother and his wife, Irwin and Pepi Steiff, daughters-in-law Lara and Jennifer Block and grand- children Gavin, Tori, Joey, Matthew and David. Chapel service 11 am TODAY at Levitt Weinstein Memorial Chapel, 18840 W. Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach. Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert (305) 865-2353 View this Guest Book at www.
