Alberto Eradio Juliachs, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on June 10 surrounded by his family at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife, Estela Juliachs; two sons, Officer Alberto Miguel Juliachs (Marisa), retired Miami-Dade Police Department, and William Albert Juliachs, Esq.; and three grandchildren, Brittany Megan Juliachs, Esq. (Luis Perez-Codina), Sarah Marie Juliachs, and Albert Michael Juliachs. He is predeceased by his parents, Alberto and Stenie Juliachs, and grandson, William Hunter Juliachs. Alberto was born on February 18, 1935, in Havana, Cuba. As a young man, Alberto attended Belen Jesuit in Havana and in 1953 began his studies at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. In 1955, he returned to Cuba where he met and married his wife, Estela, at the age of 22 and had their first son, Alberto Miguel. Alberto, his wife, and son exiled from Cuba and arrived to Miami in 1961 where their second son, William Albert, was later born. Alberto honorably retired from the Miami-Dade Corrections Department in 1999. He was a dedicated public servant who was dearly loved by his peers. Ever passionate about his work, Alberto referred to his time with his fellow officers at the Corrections Department as some of the happiest years of his life spent with his second family. A selfless and humble man, Alberto will fondly be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Always a teacher, he led by example; his life a living account of courage, dedication, perseverance, and unwavering love for his family. A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 13, from 6:00-10:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 11655 S.W. 117 Avenue. A service celebrating his life will be held the next day at 11:00am with the burial immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in his name be sent to the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
