Dolores M. Cecilio, 80, of North Miami, passed on to eternal paradise February 16th. She was born May 8, 1932 in New York City. She completed her training as a professional beautician and went into business in 1956. She moved to North Miami in 1960 with her husband Richard, where she opened her own beauty parlor, Creative Moods. She was an active member of St. James Catholic Community for 53 years. Dolores was one of the founding members of Dade County Right to Life in 1972 and for more than 40 years was dedicated to counseling young pregnant woman and fighting for the rights of the unborn in South Florida. She is survived by her brother, Tom Filippelli; her six children, Samantha Alvarez, Rocco Cecilio, Theresa Pye, Rita Fonteciella, Marianne Nash and Gino Cecilio; her grandchildren, Monica Cecilio Toole; Eric & Tyler Alvarez; Brendan, Christina & Anthony Fonteciella; Jesse & Lucas Pye; Bobby & Jered Sundin and her great-grandson, Aidan Fonteciella. There will be a viewing with rosary and benediction Friday, February 22 at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Tamarac from 4:00-7:00 PM. There will be additional viewing at St. Malachy Saturday, February 23 from 8:30-9:15 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30. She will be interred at Forest Lawn cemetery in Davie.
