Hollis Carver

CARVER, HOLLIS Calvin (Holly) Hollis Carver passed peacefully on May 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Holly was a Korean & Vietnam War Veteran and served in the United States Navy. Born in Griffin, GA raised in South Florida. He married Jeannette (Jan) Adams Carver in 1956 and they had four children, raising them in Hialeah, FL. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (Local 487) since 1967 till present. After retiring Holly and Jan moved to Doctors Lake in Orange Park, FL. Holly was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Harrison Carver; his mother, Bertha Mae Felton; his father, Jerome G. Carver; and his sister, Dorothy Wilson. He is survived by his loving wife of just shy of 58 years, Jeannette Carver; daughter, Kendra Dawn Carver; son, Rory Bubba Hollis Carver; and daughter, Lori Carver Brown; grandchildren, Krystal Carver, Kyle Carver, Kaitlyn Brown and Casey Brown and his great grandson and light of his life, Jordan Barker. He is also survived by his sister, Doris Thrasher; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made in his honor at either the Humane Society of Clay County, 2230 Fillmore Street, Orange Park, FL 32065 or the Clothes Closet and Food Pantry, PO Box 7071, Orange Park, FL 32073.
