Lawrence H. Jacobson MD died on August 20, 2013 in Los Angeles California. Dr. Jacobson was born in New York on April 4, 1932. He was a graduate of Columbia University Class of 1953 and New York University
School of Medicine Class of 1957.He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Dr. Jacobson was awarded and MBA from University of Miami in 1985. Dr. Jacobson joined the Radiation Oncology group at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach in 1974. He was known as the doctor who refused to wear a tie. He practiced at Mt. Sinai Miami Beach until his retirement in 1996. Dr. Jacobson is a past president of the Dade County Cancer Society. Larry was an avid swimmer, scuba diver and amateur photographer. He loved folk songs and singing in the car. He knew every verse of On Ilkla Moor Baht 'at, which he would gladly sing off key. Dr. Jacobson will be greatly missed by his children, Karen, Nancy and Neal Jacobson, by his grandchildren Eliza and Will Jacobson, by his cousins Laura Walcher and Mimi Chenfeld. His presence in his family's life was cut short before his passing and is the cause of this late announcement.
