WOOD CWO Morton L. Wood (born 02-28-30) peacefully passed away March11, 2013, amongst his dear companion of 12 years, Barbara Fehsenfeld and several close friends after an 18 month struggle with an illness. His parents predeceased him; William H Wood & Lyle (nee Langley) Wood of Baltimore, MD. His daughter Jennifer (twin to Jeanette) is also predeceased. He is survived by his son Eric K Wood, Coco, FL, daughter Jeanette (nee Wood) Silvers, CA and grandaughters Sabrina & Loren Silvers, CA, step-son Chris M Bull & wife Cindy (nee Durkin) Bull, stepgrand- children; Rily Durkin, Regan Durkin & Lendsay Bull. His military service for 38 years with the Maryland National Guard 29th Division, First 110th Field Artillary, brought him to the rank of CWO and a distinguished service award. Mort was a founding and longtime member of the Maryland Arms Collectors Association. His avid interest in antique vehicles led him to involvement in various motor clubs; founding member of the Cheasapeake & Sunshine chapters of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, founding member of the Baltimore County Trailriders, inducted into the Motor and Cycle Hall of Fame, Raced with the Sports Car Club of America in a Ferrari & a Cooper-Monaco (also along with Mark Donohue & Roger Penske), member of the Pierce Arrow Motor Club, Member of the Board of Directors of both the American Motorcyclist Heritage Foundation and the Antique Motor-cycle Club of America. Mort was arguably the world's foremost authority on Indian motorcycles and until his later years maintained a large collection of them. Locally, Mort was a long time member of the Marathon Yacht Club. Funeral services are private and will be held at a later date.
