COOK, ALICIA SALAVERRIA, Pembroke Pines, Florida - With her children and loved ones by her side, Alicia Salaverria Cook passed away peacefully in her home on July 10, 2012 at the age of 73. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Alicia was a world traveler having lived in places such as Japan and Brazil. After 30 years as a devoted translator, she retired in 2008 from Monroe County. She was a passionate artist and also loved cooking, dancing and time with her family. She is survived by her four children, Javier Ball, Sergio Ball, Corydon Cook and Colette Cook, seven grandchildren and 10 siblings. Throughout her life and travels Alicia touched many lives with her generous spirit. She was a beautiful and gracious woman, an exceptional mother, grandmother and friend. She remains greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A private memorial will be held in her honor at St. Mark Catholic Church.
