KORETSKY, BERNARD "BARNEY", of Tamarac, FL, died June 19th. He was 92. A native of Malden, Mass., he was one of six children born to Russian immigrants, Rebecca Lieberman and Samuel Koretsky. At 22, he voluntarily joined the U.S. Army under General George Patton and served in its engineering division, which built and destroyed bridges to help Army tanks and ships access European cities during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945 and his outfit was decorated with Eastern European Theater Campaign Ribbons with Four Bronze Battle Stars. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans. He returned to construction after the war and married fellow Maden native, Lillian Wisser. He opened Tri-Son Realty, a construction company named in honor of their three sons. Tri-Son built well-known Boston area landmarks, such as Hockey Town USA, Diamond Head Chinese Restaurant and Pete's Donuts. He retired to Pembroke Park in 1979 and began championing the rights of mobile home park owners. He was twice elected as town Mayor, serving from 1983-90. He was proud of his accomplishments during his controversial tenure, including starting in-house building and code enforcement departments and the town's first park. He later moved to High Point in Delray, where he was also active in the condo association. His passion for the stock market and watching his beloved Boston Red Sox kept his mind sharp and active until his final day. He is survived by his sons, Steve (Pam), Ralph (Felicia), Jay (Sue-Ann). He was proud Zeide to Andrea, Michael, Scott, Chloe and Chase. He is also survived by sister Rose (Charles) Karas, Janet (Seymour) Porter and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by longtime companion, Alma Soccoccio. Funeral is at Noon, Today, Friday, June 22nd at Beth David Levitt-Weinstein Hollywood, 3201 N.W. 72 Ave. Hollywood, FL 33024
