Knowles, Charles James, Sr. "Chuck", 68, of Miami, Florida, passed away at the Mayo Clinic December 6, 2012. Chuck was born to Eileen and Charles Knowles. After graduating from Miami Senior High, he joined the Air Force. He returned home to marry, Eileen Barrios, enrolled at the University of Miami and studied accounting. He completed his BA in 3 years, was courted by Ernst and Ernst but declined opting instead to build his own practice while earning his MBA from UM. He pioneered an application of computer software that enabled him to serve a client base including offshore insurance companies, as well as private clients in the US, London and Cayman Is. He taught evening accounting classes at Miami Dade for enjoyment. Chuck became an investment advisor and signed on with Fidelity in the 90's. He was active in his church, Westminster school, Scouting and coached baseball. He found love a second time with Deborah Bush, and moved to Melbourne Beach. He hosted a radio show on finance, and was a ethics presenter on the FICPA circuit. Recently, he was awarded "Lifetime Member Award" by the FICPA. He was a musician and engineer that worked on Asbury Park, he loved sailing, diving and flying. He was a marathon runner, and he directed a large scale musical entitled The Gospel According to Scrooge. Chuck will be remembered as a man of deep spirituality, ethics, and wisdom. A leader and true gentleman who had a great sense of humor, a warm approach and a fantastic laugh. He is survived by his four children: Kim Wood (Tom); Charles James Knowles, Jr.; Jason Andrew Knowles (Shannon); Edward Allen Knowles (Jenna); 11 grand- children, brother John Knowles (Anne) 5 nieces and nephews; Eileen Corona (Lorenzo) and Deborah Bush. Services will be held December 20th at The Wood Family Home at 7:00pm In lieu of flowers gifts in memory of Charles Knowles can be made to the Mayo Clinic Transplant Department, 4500 San Pablo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
