MALPHURS, Diane DiMartino, was born on September 24th, 1947 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was the beloved daughter of Arthur and Marjorie DiMartino, both of whom predeceased her. From the age of five, Diane was raised in Miami, FL with her lifelong friend and sister, Marjorie (Margie) Bennett, who survives her along with her nephew Jonathon Bennett, his wife Kirsys, and favorite grand-niece, Summer. Diane graduated from Miami Senior High School in 1965. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida in 1969, and a Master's degree in Special Education from Georgia College & State University in 1983. The love and light of Diane's life were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by daughter Julie, her partner Aaron McEntire and grandson Jack, age 6 & 1/2; son Jason, his wife Stephanie, and grand-children Samuel Arthur (Sam) & Alyson Diane (Aly), born February 6th, 2013; and son James (Jamie) who was his mother's constant companion the last month of her life. A celebration of Diane's life will be held on Friday, April 26th in Gainesville, FL with friends and family.
