Don G. Gerloff

1933 - 2018

GERLOFF, DON G. Don G. Gerloff of Islamorada, Florida went home to heaven on February 11th following a massive stroke on February 5th. Born on August 22, 1933, the son of the late Otto and Helen of Waco, TX, Don was a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Masters degree in industrial engineering. He retired on 8/22/93 from Delta Airlines as an L1011 captain after a 32-year career. Don was a most generous, caring, Christian man, a true gentleman. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret; brother Glenn of San Angelo, Texas (Joan); nephew Robin Ballard (Debbie); niece Diana Ballard (Travis); 6 Godchildren and friends around the world. He was preceded in death by his sister Marsha Ballard and nephew Glenn Ballard. We will celebrate Don's life with joy and his stories at a memorial service on March 17th, 1pm at Island Community Church, mile marker 83, bayside, Islamorada in the Florida Keys. A second service will be on March 24th in Temple, Central Texas. In lieu of flowers, honor Don with a donation to Island Community Church; 83520 Overseas Highway; Islamorada, FL 33036.
