Thanks for sending me this notice on the anniversary of Harolds passing. It caused me to think about Harold Glasser, and the influence that he had on my life, and countless others. To me he was a hero, larger than life, who epitomized the true definition of a leader. I met Harold in 1980 when I was appointed State Director for Massachusetts. From day 1, there was never any question as to who was in charge. Harold was not always loved, because he had to make the tough decisions, but he was certainly respected and admired by those who had the privilege of working for him, and working with him....To Marnie and Kerry, my heart goes out to you. I am honored to have had the privilege of knowing Harold and learning from him....Most Sincerely, Myron L. Mike Wasserman

I only just heard about Harold's passing. I met Harold and Marny in 1984 on New Year's Eve day at Grove Isle, Miami, FL where they had just purchased a condo. I had been sitting at the pool bar reading the WSJ and had left momentarily. On my return I noticed that Harold had appropriated my WSJ and as a result we started a conversation. I soon found out that they were new arrivals and invited them to a party that evening at the home of another Grove Isle resident. From that moment on we shared many good times together with friends and family. In 1987 business took me back to San Francisco, where I had come from and still live, and we soon lost touch. I still have the 3 time zone gold pocket watch that Harold gave me, which was presented to him during the 1982 Miss Universe Pageant in Peru. I now regret that I didn't make more of an effort to stay in touch.

Marny, my thoughts, prayers and good wishes go out to you.

It was merely by coincidence that I discovered that Mr. Glaaser had passed away and was saddened. I was a national
director starting from the'70s and was
impressed with the good working relationship I had with him. On those
ocassions when I visited New York I would often call and ther were times we would go to lunch. His contributions
to the pageant world are many. I pray
that you are comforted by the knowledge that his was a life lived well. He touched many people and our world is the better for it
My thank to you Manny and Kerry for sharing him with us.

Dear Marny and Kerry: This is a big loss. Harold Glasser was a man who was looked up to, respected and admired. I had the good fortune to join the Miss Universe organization as a State Director in 1980, thanks to Harold's long time associate, Frank Sweeney. For 19 years, the pageants were a major part of my life. As a leader, I found Harold strong and tough, but exceedingly fair and he set a wonderful example to those who had the opportunity to learn from him and work with him. There was no doubt about it. Harold was in charge and it was he who called the shots. It was never quite the same after he left. The lives of thousands of young women were enhanced by Harold's accomplishments, and his memory will always be quite special to myself and countless others that had the privilege of knowing him and working with him. With great sympathy and respect....Mike Wasserman

Harold has left a legacy of excellence. We worked together for so many years at Miss Universe. He was the toughest boss I ever had and a treasured friend over these many, many years. Harold had the vision to shape television and pageantry on an international scale.

Marny, Harold will always be the love of your life and Kerry you had the greatest teacher a man could ask for.

To those of us who loved him and knew him well, Harold will never be gone; and so dear friend Good Night and God Bless.

Dear Marny and Kerry,

I was sorry to hear about your loss. I was the Miss USA in 1977-1978 from Texas. Mr. Glasser was a great guy, and I enjoyed my year working with him. He always had a smile and twinkle in his eye... he will be missed. I am glad he was a part of my life... if only for a short time. You both will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Kim Tomes Dietz

Dear Marny:

I had the opportunity of working with Harold as director for the Miss NY & NJ USA & Teen USA pageants from 1978-1996. I became associated with Harold through my late husband, Seymour Sietz who originally created the "Prize Package" for the Miss Universe Organization. He even trained Kerry on this project many years ago. He will and had already been sorely missed when he left the organization. He presided over the most prestigious and well-run organization. His people skills, charm and intelligence worked with so many people from all over the world. My sincerest and deepest condolences to you and Kerry. Marilyn Sietz
