SCHWITZMAN, IRENE, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2013. Irene was born June 9, 1927 in New York City, the daughter of Minnie & Abraham Schwitzman She is survived by her loving husband Marvin Levine, formerly of New Rochelle NY, sister Shirley Presant of Delray Beach and brother-in-law Seymour Gelber of Miami Beach. She also leaves behind nieces/nephews: Melinda (Bruce), Michael (Carol), Stephen (Sally), Judy (Steve), Daniel (Joan), Barbara (John), and 14 adoring grand-nieces and nephews, all of whom viewed her as the benevolent and beloved "Auntie Mame" of movie fame. Irene lovingly taught elementary school science for 35 years in NYC public schools, and gloried in the successes of each and every one of her kids. She loved to travel, attend the theatre, read an engrossing mystery and devour a great sale at Saks. Her sophisticated wit was her trademark and family was what she truly cherished. She is predeceased by her sister Edith Gelber of Miami Beach and brother-in-law Fred Presant of Delray Beach. Services will be held on Sunday, October 20th at 10:45AM at Temple Beth Sholom, 4144 Chase Avenue, Miami Beach. Interment at Mt Nebo Memorial Gardens 5505 NW 3rd Street, Miami.
