DOBKIN, Irving (Bucky), 88, known as 'Poppy', passed away peacefully in his home on October 22, 2012. Born in Chester, PA on February 3, 1924, to Harry and Mamie (Valinsky) Dobkin, one of six children, survived by beloved sister, Mindy Sacks (Pat Livecchi). A proud World War II Veteran, he was wounded in battle at Anzio Beach, Italy, earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He married the love of his life, Selma Zeenkov, engaged after six days, married 53 years until she passed away too young in 1998. In 1969, the family moved to NMB and ran a successful plumbing business for many years. Bucky happily spent his last 14 years fishing, traveling and cruising the world, spending time with family and many friends. He is survived by his daughters, Sheree Savar (beloved son-in-law Ira Sochet), Rhodele Dobkin Holzberg (beloved son-in-law, Glenn J. Holzberg), and son, Dr. Harris Dobkin, and grandchildren: Evan and Brian Dobkin, Elexis Holzberg Kritzer (Michael Kritzer-Cheren), Louis Holzberg, Sam Holzberg, Rowan Holzberg, David, Adam, and Lisa Sochet, Laura Sochet Kepax (John Keepax), and great-grand-children: Haley, Samantha, and Alison Keepax, and extended family: Ruth Dobkin, Linda Olibrice, Yalila Caldera, and pets: Mazel, Brutus, Lola, and Seven. Bucky's wicked sense of humor and endless compassion will be missed by all who loved him. A private service was held. Shiva will follow at Poppy's home.
