ROPER, Jack A. Esq., 98 of Aventura, Florida passed away October 19, one year after being diagnosed with MDS. He made it to his 98th Birthday on October 11th and celebrated this milestone with his wife and friends from the Vi Residence. Jack was a law professor at Hunter College and New York Law School , as well as having the title of Chief Attorney at the Veterans Administration, New York City office for over 30 years. He was a veteran of WW II. His plane, a B24 bomber was shot down over Germany where Jack parachuted from a burning plane, only to be placed in a Prisoner of War Camp, Stalag Luft III, for one year until liberation., He is survived by his loving wife Ruth, their two daughters, Laurie Roper from Sarasota and Jamie Roper from Asheville, NC. Jack leaves behind a legacy of friends and peers who enjoyed his great wit, gift for storytelling, generosity and indominable spirit.
