ASHKENAZI, JOSEF "YOSSI", left this world suddenly on Wednesday, October 3rd. He was born in Beit Hanan, Israel in 1944. He attended Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he was awarded a PhD in Physics. Yossi came to Miami in 1988 where he has been a tenured professor in the Physics Department. He has been a beloved teacher and has continued to publish in his field of Superconductivity even until very recently. Yossi was known for his active work in Israeli politics, tirelessly working toward Peace in Israel and her neighbors. He is dearly missed and survived by his soul mate, Roz Averbook, his son Oded Ashkenazi, his daughter, Avivit Ashkenazi Pyle, granddaughter, Jasmine, son-in-law, Jason Pyle, his sister, Rachela, many nieces and nephews in Israel and the entire Averbook family. Funeral services will take place Friday at Temple Beth Sholom 4144 Chase Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33140 11:00am Interment will take place at Lakeside Memorial Gardens immediately following services.
