BURCHELL, JOSEPH J., 79, passed away in Lehigh Acres, FL on September 9th, 2012. He was the first black police officer in Coventry, England from 1972-1979 and worked for the GPO Telephone Company from 1962-1979 before migrating to Miami, FL in 1979. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18th from 4-8 pm at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Funeral Home, 11655 SW 117th Avenue, Miami, FL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary-St. Richard Catholic Church, 7500 SW 152nd St., Palmetto Bay, FL.
