McMAHON Louis (Lou) Joseph McMahon died peacefully in his Key Colony Beach, Fla., home on October 23. Lou was born to Helen and Louis Anthony McMahon in St. Louis on September 19, 1920, and lived in Webster Groves and Kirkwood, Mo., before retiring to Marathon in 1983. He graduated from Webster Groves High School in 1938 and attended Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. As a member of "America's Greatest Generation," Lou was in the Army Air Corps during World War II stationed in South Dakota and then Big Springs, Texas, where he was accompanied by his wife Virginia. Returning to St. Louis, Lou was employed as an account executive for 30 years for Grossman Iron and Steel and was named Purchasing Manager of the Year by Purchasing Management Association of St. Louis in 1980. Lou was a communicant of San Pablo Catholic Church in Marathon and was a member of Marathon Yacht Club and Sombrero Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Carolyn (Boss) McMahon, his daughter Kathleen McMahon Shaheen , his parents, brother John McMahon and sister Mary Williams. Survivors include his sister, Celeste McCullagh of Bethlehem, Pa.; daughter Gail Schindler (Marv Schindler) of Marathon and Steve McMahon (Janet McMahon) of Wall, N.J. Lou is also survived by six grandchildren including Alison Virsik, Portola Valley, Calif.; Matthew Shaheen, Phoenix, Ariz.; Kris and Ross Schindler, Marathon; Sara McMahon, Rutherford, N.J.; Sheila McMahon, Wall, N.J. He also has four great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at San Pablo Catholic Church, Marathon, Fla.
