Mr. Hogan was a passionate and gentle man. I had the pleasure and honor of knowing him throughout high school... working beside him on many theatre productions. Roger, God bless you. Thank you for being a great teacher and a great friend.

When I moved back to the US after living 8 years in South America my very first class was Summer School English with Mr. Hogan (1981). Mr . Hogan was kind and decent and when I finished the class after 6 weeks I remember him telling me that my English skills were better than the rest of the students, he said "Maybe we should send them to Venezuela". A nice man...Godspeed Mr. Hogan

I had the pleasure of seeing and talking with Mr. Hogan twice this year at a favorite watering hole in Hollywood...talking about the old Hollywood and HHHS. I distinctly remember talking about the plays he produced. He still had the same wit some thirty plus years later. Mr Hogan was a genuine person from what I remember and he will be missed. I had him for first period English. I remember him bringing hot chocolate and doughnuts to class for breakfast when it was cold.

Mr. Hogan was my FAVORITE teacher at HHS! 2 favorite memories: (1) skipping his class to go to BK for breakfast only to find him standing in back of me in the line! He was so cool about it - we actually ate together! (2) Being invited to his Christmas party at his home one year. I'll never forget Mr. Hogan - he will be in my memory forever. RIP Mr. Roger Hogan- you will be sorely missed. Class of '86

Mr. Hogan was my 12th grade English teacher and he was the best. I remember him reciting quotes from Shakespeare. He was very talented and pleasant human being. Rest in Peace Mr. Hogan, Blesses Be!

Favorite Mr. H. memories ... 1) walking into his class in first period, 5 minutes after the 2nd bell rang, getting his 'evil eye' then he'd give me a pass to get me out of being tardy ... almost every day for 2 years - and I never took Lati...n! 2) Everything Drama Club related, but especially building sets on Sat. mornings... 3) 'Uncle Rog' -nuff said 4) Seeing him at Publix or the MRH gym looking so good so late in life, and being amazed he could still remember Kris, Steve and I after so many years! A huge thank you to his wondeful care givers, you really helped keep a great man and educator happy and healthy, we will miss you Uncle Rog!

Mr. H. (Uncle Rog) made high school (and the world) a better place. His enthusiam for theater, music and production gave the students in his Drama Club a vision to persue and achieve, every time we put on a performance. I was blessed to be involved in the HHHS Drama Club for many years and I know it helped shape my life. I am also blessed to have been able to see Mr. H. after graduation, if only for a few short visits at a time, and kudos to his care-givers. Even 30+ years later he still could recognize me (and Steve), he will be missed.

Mr. hogan was an inspiration of kindness and patience in my life. We did much together. I, as many others, did sets for plays (painting those darn things w starch - lol), hanging them from the pulleys in the the auditorium and working the lights/sound for his productions. Mr. Hogan was my English teacher in 9th and 10th grade. I learned a lot from him in and out of school. On our last outing, when I was freshly out of the military (or maybe during my service) we went to lunch and he asked me if I was crazy for being a paratrooper! LoL! We laughed for about twenty minutes on and off about that. Oh Mr. Hogan - I could go on and on - suffice it to say that you never met a stranger and this country is better off because of your caring ways of teaching. A just man with dedication and determination that was cushioned in patience. Love ya man! really! We all need to remind ourselves of how you taught us to be by your actions. Rest in peace friend.

Roger Hogan was a teacher, mentor and friend that greatly influenced and enriched my life. I cannot think of my high school years without thinking of so many wonderful memories of him. He will always have a place in my heart.

Mr. Hogan,
You will deeply missed! You were such an amazingly dedicated teacher. We had so much fun learning Latin, preparing for and presenting our plays, building sets on Saturdays, end-of-year picnics, selling stuffed animals at football games. You were the consummate educator! Over the years, I've put all that you'd taught me to use, whether it was teaching a song in Latin or running my own drama club, or being stage manager for local shows. You definitely left your mark!

Mr. Hogan encouraged me to be a writer and I am so grateful! It is because of that encouragement that I realized my dream of becoming a published author in 2000. I have so many memories of his English Class antics! I have thought of him fondly over the years. He was a treasure and will be missed.

Mr. Hogan was a very kind and understanding person who would help anybody with any type of problem if they asked him. He helped me with just not school issues but also personal issues and for that he will always have a place in my heart. He was truly a wonderful person and though we should morn his passing we should all celebrate his life and how he helped, cared, and treated his fellow man and follow on the path he has started for us in our own lives. I think he would appreciate that a part of him was inside all of the people he touched. I will never forget you Mr. Roger Hogan.
