BYRD Roy Wiley Byrd, 1942-2012 Roy Wiley Byrd, 70, a native of Pensacola and successful entrepreneur, passed away Saturday, September 15, at his home in Pensacola. Mr. Byrd was an Air Force veteran who, with his former wife of 32 years, Marlys, grew a small TV repair shop in Key Largo into a successful appliance and furniture store. In recent years he bought and sold antiques. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, flying small aircraft and international travel. He was preceded in death by son-in-law, USN Petty Officer 1st Class Steven E. Snow. Surviving are his two children, Greg (wife, Shawna) and Karen, and Marlys, the mother of his children, two grand children, Kyle and Carlyn. Roy is also survived by siblings Lloyd, Glen (Janice), Brenda (Tony) and Marilyn, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held in the Keys on December 27th.
