Drinkuth, Ruth Mary (nee Hellman), went home to be with our Lord March 23, at the age of 99 after a rich and fulfilling life. Ruth was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1913, the daughter of Henry and Caroline Hellman. She grew up in Cincinnati, and in June, 1935 married Clinton Drinkuth. They later moved to New Jersey and then to Florida. Ruth was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of South Miami, and was also active in the South Miami Garden Club. She enjoyed working in her rose and vegetables gardens, and watching golf on TV. After 54 years of marriage, her beloved husband, Clint, passed away in 1989. Ruth is survived by her three children: Marlene (William) Shaw, Bruce (Linda) Drinkuth and Lanny (Rosemary) Drinkuth, as well her as grandchildren: Robert (Jerlyn) Shaw, Elizabeth (Scott) Stella, James (Tammy), Pamela (Adam) Farran, Eric (Kathryn) and Kyle (Stephanie), as well as her great-grandchildren Derek, Austin, Kyle, Madison, Miranda, Philip, Luke and Jennaeve. Proverbs 31: "Her children will rise up and call her blessed." Funeral services for Ruth will be held at Stanfill Funeral Home, on Wednesday, March 27. Visitation at 1 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm. There will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, we suggest donations to First United Methodist Church of South Miami or Southeastern Guide Dogs in Palmetto, FL.
