Walter J. Harvey

Obituary
Be the first to share your memories or express your condolences in the Guest Book for Walter J. Harvey.

He was known simply as "Harvey." He loved God & people & sought to help & encourage others. He served instinctually with his time, electrical trade, skill with engines, & creative funneling of useful stuff to those in need. For 86 years, he noticed & appreciated others. Born in Carlyle, AK, he joined the Air Force at 18. He met Gloria, wife of 63 years, in Miami & had four children & raised twin nephews. Walter, equally loved in return, doted on Gloria with utmost tenderness. Their marriage, founded on trust & belief in God, encouraged countless couples. They were known for generosity to endless guests, who could give nothing in return, & caring for Walter's mother. In '69, they founded Arkie Electric (aka Coral Coral Cables Do-All). Later in life, they worshiped at SW Community Church. He is remembered & loved by brother Allen. Children Jake, Charity, Bruce, Katie. Nephews Derek, Darrel. 29 grandchildren & Carlyle kin. An Atlanta Celebration of his life is planned. To best honor Harvey, simply help someone in need.
