Mrs. Bizzaro,
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. I had the opportunity of working with Mr.B at Richmond Perrine and later at TGK. I found out about Mr. B on this Saturday. It was devasting news. B was one of the most inspirational persons I believe God placed on earth. I loved him so much. To see the love he expressed daily for his family, made me realize how important family really is. Hearing him talk about you Mrs.Donna, caring for the newborns and his beautiful little girl(his everything) and later his grandchildren, truly his joy, bought new meaning to love. May God continue to Bless You.

Donna,
I was shocked and saddened to hear about Don and would have attended the services but was out of town. I worked with Don at A.C.E. and will always remember his smile and his laugh. When I think of Don I remember his briefcase - he was NEVER without it! I also remember how he would light up when he talked about the two loves of his life - you and Tami. Before every holiday he would always mention that he had to buy you your favorite perfume. I never met Tami but feel like I know her because of Don's loving comments about her. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.

It is with unspeakable sadness that I say goodbye to my dear friend, Don. He was "Mr." Bizzaro when he was my high school Algebra teacher at South Miami Senior High, the year it was built and opened. He was the special teacher and mentor with the unmistakable and unforgettable laugh (you can hear it now, can't you?), who read to us from The Hobbit each day and had music piped in from the oldie's station, WAXY Radio, during our exams. It was Don who inspired me to never stop learning, but not to take myself too seriously, and keep a sense of humor above all. If Don ever preferred another student in his entire career, I was unaware, and there are likely countless former students who believe that they alone were Don's favorite. Don had the amazing ability to enjoy his honors students, but the gift of reaching the students who struggled to learn; the latter perhaps even more, as it was his habit to defend the underdog. I was lucky enough to call Don my friend, along with his beloved Donna, and to remain so all these years, although separated by distance with my move to the west coast in 1978. Don saw me into adulthood and all the way into middle age through all the vicissitudes of life! I got to see Tami grow up and start a family of her own, including the grandchildren who were Don's delight. I have many happy memories of days sailing [see my favorite photo of Don's burst of exuberance for the camera circa 1991], relaxing backyard barbecues with Don's impressive deck construction, Cuban food at the Versailles restaurant, visiting with family in both Florida and California, and sharing many laughs. I had always assumed that we had another twenty years to go during which we would create new memories and reminisce about the past, and the world is a sadder place for his early departure. If success is measured by love of family, friends, a joy for life, and compassion for others, Don was among the most successful people we will ever know. Until we meet again, my friend, we shall honor your memory with love and laughter.

Dear Donna, Tami, and Family,
Don and I worked together at South Miami Senior High many years ago. He taught math.; I taught health education. I also met Tami there, when she was little. Don was so proud of her!
Don was so much fun to work with; and the kids loved him. All of that and he knew math too!
I know that Don will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all of the students he taught over the years.
Sending you all my deepest thoughts, prayers, and sympathy, at this very sad time.............

I am so sad to be writing in Mr. "B"'s Guest Book this way. I met Mr. Bizzaro in 1987 when we were working at the Academy for Community Education. He was the Math Teacher and a very good Math Teacher who had ways of gettting the Alternative Education students to open up and love Math! Mr. B was a special Teacher, Coworker etc. He ALWAYS had a very big smile on his face and would give you the shirt off of his back. He is truly going to be missed. I am still in shock!! My prayers are with his wife Donna and Daughter. God Speed.

I met Don at Miami High some 50 years ago. We later became next door neighbors with Don and Donna some 40 years ago. Our daughters were best friends (Debbi and Tami). We spent time with Don and Donna at Hobie Beach on their hobie-cat. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word and always had a big smile on his face. I will remember him that way and miss his sense of humor. My prayers are with his family and I know he is in a better place.
