PORA, STANLEY J. 88 of Miami Florida died unexpectedly Monday, June 16, 2014. He was born in Cumberland, RI on September 7, 1925 to the late Jan and Wiktoria Pora. Stan served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and following his service he started his own construction company in Rhode Island. After moving to Miami in 1975 he was employed as a Long-shoreman at the Port of Miami. Stan was preceded in death by his son David Pora, and is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marjorie, 5 children; John Matthew Pora of California, Steven Orzechowicz of Miami, Lillian Bailey of Rhode Island, and Jan Pora and Franceska Labonte of Arizona, 12 grandchildren and 5 great grand-children. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM at Stanfill Funeral Home, followed by a service on Saturday at 3:30 PM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church (14260 Old Cutler Rd, Palmetto Bay, FL 33158).
