Nunes, Georgeena Ivy, 96 of Winter Park, Florida, died peacefully on July 17, 2014 at Winter Park Towers, born in Port Antonio, Jamaica, March 11, 1918. Ivy touched the lives of all she met through church and work. She worked as a librarian and postal clerk In Port Antonio. She enjoyed gardening, music and singing. Ivy was an active member of the choirs at Titchfeild High School and Christ Church, Port Antonio. She was lead soprano and a popular soloist for many weddings and concerts at the church. As she said, "Singing was my passion and God blessed me with a good voice." After relocating to Kingston she reveled in her true vocation, early childhood education. She taught ages 4-11 at Robertson Preparatory, touching the lives of many children and their families. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Ivy was married to Lester Nunes on October 25, 1939 until his death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer (Wood). Ivy is survived by 5 children, Vivian (Beverly) Nunes of West Palm Beach, Florida; Glory Spence of Houston, Texas; Frederick (Yvette) Nunes of Silver Spring, Maryland; Cherry (Paul) Palma of Maitland, Florida; and Christine (Berkley) Moss of Oviedo, Florida. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and other family and countless friends. Ivy inspired, encouraged, guided, nurtured and loved all who crossed her path. A Service of Thanksgiving and Celebration will be on Friday August 1, at 10:00 am, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 338 East Lyman Ave. Winter Park, FL.
